Instagram has announced a new feature called Remix that will let users create, share and add their own perspective and fun on its Reels platform.
The new feature, seen as a take on Chinese short-form video app TikTok, allows users to “remix” a reel, meaning they can upload a video next to another user’s, building on top of the original clip.
“Remix lets you create your own Reel, along-side an existing reel. Interactive tools like Live Rooms, polls and questions in Stories, and AR effects have always been a huge part of how people connect on Instagram,” the company said in a statement on Wednesday. These stories, AR effects and short videos help to increase Instagram followers count.
Now you can use the Remix feature in Reels to create your own reel next to one that already exists 🎭
Whether you’re capturing your reaction, responding to friends or bringing your own magic to trends, Remix is another way to collab on Instagram ✨ pic.twitter.com/eU8x74Q3yf
