Econet Media has on Thursday launched a free to air channel in its portfolio dubbed “Kwese free sport” which will begin showing next week across the continent.
The south African broadcaster has previously announced exclusive right deals across a number of premium sporting codes including the premier league, the national basketball association, extreme fighting championship, the national football league among others.
Kwese Free Sports TV General Manager Monica Ndung’u said that they will not only air local content but also commission the production of original work by local production companies as part of developing the local industry.
