Jumia to donate 1 per cent of every sale to charity

Online shopping store, Jumia will donate 1 per cent of every purchase made from its website from the 13th to 15 of December. The proceeds both in cash and in Kind will support over 400 disadvantaged kids from the Good Samaritan Children’s Home in Juja during the Christmas period.

“We are inviting our customers to make a difference in someone’s life by doing something simple that they love to do – shop with Jumia!” said Sam Chappatte, MD, Jumia Kenya. “Buy your Christmas presents online, and every purchase you make will go someway to making Christmas that much better for a special group of kids”

The online retailer has donated over Ksh5 million since 2014 to different homes of the less fortunate within the country. By offering a way to contribute without effort or cost, the company hopes to raise the largest donation to date during this month of love, giving and kindness.

This year’s Christmas Sale on Jumia features 1000s of new products (such as diapers, consumer goods & beauty) and hundreds of discounts over the period. Customers can visit www.jumia.co.ke to purchase online (& donate!) or can donate directly via lift the child
