Network Monitoring Software Firm Paessler Launch Operations in East Africa

Kristel Communication which has been a leading value-added distributor of cyber security solutions in Kenya has today partnered with Paessler, a German network monitoring software leader.

The partnership is aimed at providing the networking monitoring software Paessler Router Traffic Grapher (PRTG).

PRTG mainly targets start-ups, small medium-sized, and enterprise companies enabling firms to monitor all their systems, devices, traffic, and other applications in their infrastructure through an offer of real-time alerts.

Ben Obinju, Kristen Communication Chief Executive Officer, during the launch of the product in East Africa termed the partnership with Paessler as timely at a period when the country has seen an increase in cyber security threats targeting businesses in Kenya and the region as a whole.

“As a cybersecurity company, we have been working to ensure all our clients are cyber resilient by helping them mitigate the day-to-day risks that originate from cyber threats. Other than offering strategic advice to our clients we, therefore, deliver strategic solutions to such threats through products such as PRTG which we are launching today,” Ben Obinju said.

PRTG enables organizations to respond to unexpected changes in the system by triggering real-time notifications, which will assist curb losses due to delays in the delivery of crucial functions.

According to Paessler, the availability of software in the market will enable local firms to optimize the usage of their infrastructure by enabling systems managers “stay on top’ of all processes with the help of the software.

Irene Gorrissen, Business Development & Technical Sales Manager for Africa, said “Many organizations in the region have their IT faculties monitoring the functionalities of the various tools in their infrastructure while it is not their role. PRTG will therefore enable organizations to optimize their It department focus on their roles through a powerful and flexible platform.”

Some of the expected early adopters of this project will likely entail the financial sector that is banks, SACCOs, and micro-financing institutions that are at a higher risk, especially with the mobile operations.

Kristen believes the deployment of this product is timely, coming at a post-pandemic period when most organizations have automated their operations hence urging firms to embrace it and assuring that PRSTG ensures that safety is attained.
