David Mugonyi Assumes Role of DG at Communications Authority of Kenya

David Mugonyi has officially taken on the role of Director General at the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), following his appointment by Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo.

Mugonyi reported to his office on Monday morning, where he was received by the CA Board and the Director of Corporate Communications, Chris Wambua.

During his first day, Mugonyi toured the CA Centre, meeting with various department heads and staff members to learn about their mandates. He also held a meeting with the CA management team as he settled into his new position.

Mugonyi replaces Ezra Chiloba, who resigned in October last year amidst allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of office.

Chiloba was accused of misusing the authority’s mortgage scheme and acquiring property beyond the allowed limits under the Civil Servants Housing Scheme.

With Mugonyi now at the helm, the CA looks to move forward under new leadership, following a period of transition and change.
