Liquid Dataport Launches Fibre Route in Africa, Connecting Kenya to DRC

Liquid Dataport, a subsidiary of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, a technology group operating across Africa, has announced the launch of its latest fibre route connecting Mombasa, Kenya, to Muanda on the west coast of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo).

This marks the shortest East-to-West route in Africa, with a reduction in data transmission latency by 20 milliseconds.

The 3,800km route that passes through Uganda and Rwanda brings reliable and affordable broadband connectivity to over 40 million people living and working in all the major cities along the route.

The new East-West route complements Liquid’s One Africa Digital Network, which spans 110,000 km and provides greater cost efficiencies for Africa’s broadband Internet access.
