Samsung Electronics East Africa unveils three new entrants of its Galaxy smartphone portfolio including the J7 Prime, J5prime and the Galaxy Grand Prime Plus in Kenya.

Speaking during a rollout of a consumer awareness campaign to promote the new smartphones, Samsung Electronics East Africa Vice President and Managing Director, Mr. Jung Hyun Park said the J7 Prime, J5 Prime and the Galaxy Grand Prime plus come at an opportune time when Kenyans are eager to usher in the festive season.
“The three phones follow the innovative tradition of the Samsung Galaxy family and are optimized to meet the taste of our trendy and discerning customers here in Kenya. In addition to powerful security features, the front cameras in J7 prime, J5 prime and the Grand Prime plus are all excellent for ‘Groupfie’ which couldn’t have come at a better time than now when we’re going into the sharing season of Christmas. Moreover, the three smart phones make the perfect Christmas gift for friends and family members owing to their competitive prices,” Park said
The Galaxy Prime series features an innovative range of 5.0 to 5.5” display smartphones with powerful back and selfie cameras, high performance specifications, additional security features and sleek design.
The J7 prime and J5 prime in particular now feature a stylish metal and glass design for a premium look and feel. The new prime devices come in two color choices-Black and a stylish Gold
The new Galaxy prime series is led by the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime that has a 5.5-inch full HD display coupled with 3GB RAM , a large 3300mAh battery and 32GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD). It also comes with a 13MP rear camera and a powerful 8MP front camera that is perfect for selfies.
On the other hand, the J5 Prime has a 5.0 inch HD display coupled with 2GB RAM, 2400mAh battery and 16GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card). It also comes with 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera
New to the series as well is the finger print scanner embedded in the home key that will allow users to unlock their J7 prime or J5 prime with their fingerprint for an added layer of security. The J7 Prime and J5 prime also feature improved camera lens technology with wider F1.9 aperture to allow for brighter and clearer photos in low light conditions.
The Galaxy Grand Prime Plus comes with a 5-inch touch screen display, 1.5 GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card) .It further features a 5 MP camera with flash and an innovative wide selfie mode making it ideal for selfies with large groups plus a host of many other rich, powerful and multi-tasking features for customers looking at uninterrupted entertainment and multi-tasking on-the-go.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 prime, J5 prime and Grand Prime Plus are available in both single and dual SIM variations.
