As part of Safaricom’s 20 years growth celebration, the local telco has introduced Pochi la Biashara targeting small business owners who want to detached payments from their personal M-PESA account.
The innovative USSD code will help secure businesses cash flow accountability.
“Customers can conveniently make payments directly to the business owner’s Pochi La Biashara. Business owners will be able to separate their business funds and personal funds allowing them to use business transactions to make better business decisions,” reads a statement by the operator.
Client’s mobile numbers will not be displayed on M-PESA messages for Pochi La Biashara payments to enhance security.
Just like Lipa na M-Pesa options for Paybill and till numbers, Pochi La Biashara seeks to aid many small businesses like Boda Boda operators, food vendors, small kiosk owners, and others to receive and make small payments from the special numbers.
How to setup Pochi la Biashara Account
To open Pochi la Biashara account follow the steps below:
- On your phone Dial *334#
- Pick Pochi la Biashara and Click Send
- Select Join
- Enter 1 to Join
- Select 1 to accept Terms and Conditions
- Pick Business Category (transport, food, retail, clothing, etc.)
- Add Business Name

- Opt-in

- Select Pochi La Biashara
- Enter the business mobile number
- Make payment
