The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has announced that it has verified 1.14 million BBI signatures.
This confirms that the commission has reached its target in a bid to take the BBI Bill to the 47 county assemblies.
The 1,140,845 registered voters are out of the 4.2 million signatures collected by the BBI team led by the Orange Democratic Movement last year.
According to IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati in a letter dated 26/01/2020 he said that the Initiative has met the requisite threshold as provided in Article 257 (4) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
